5 Days of Arch

📕 326 words ⏳ 2 min.

I have been back on Arch for 5 days now after installing it manually on 30th November. I just wanted to take a quick look back on these few days.

What Am I Using?

I have had a little bit of a re-jig around of what software I use. The big one, is my main desktop. I have installed and have been using KDE Plasma, which I have been enjoying.

KDE Plasma

I’ve not done any customisation of the theme for my desktop apart from setting it to Breeze Dark, but this is on my todo list to take a look at (just need to add to my calendar and schedule some time to play around with this).

I have got a couple of ideas for how I want my desktop to look: a nice Catppucin Macchiato colour scheme, maybe some nice icons too. I have an idea in my head but to put them in writing is a bit more difficult, but once I’ve got something, I’ll make an update with some screenshots.

Other Apps

I have got a selection of apps installed that I use everyday. One of these is Alacritty, which has been my go to terminal emulator for years. I have my long worked on configuration but I need to update the colours.

My browser of choice is Vivaldi which I really need to get round to writing about, need to get a dark theme created for it.

Apart from that, the only other thing that I use daily is Neovim, which I use to do all my writing and programming (writing configs and working on various projects).

The Future

I am happy where I am, save a couple of configuration things that I want to do, but all good so far, after 5 days of being back on Arch.

I Use Arch BTW!

Hope you enjoyed, I’ll catch you in the next one, BYEEE!!!
