Using Calendar.md

📕 307 words ⏳ 2 min.

A couple of days ago, I saw a toot that mentioned calendar.txt, so I decided to take a look at that. I did a quick DuckDuckGo search and found a website that shows some examples and so I created a file (in my Nextcloud called Calendar.md and got to work starting a nice little way to keep my schedule nice and organised.

Here’s the current week as an example:

**2025-12-03 w49 Wed** *8-16* Work *22* Setup Calendar.md

**2025-12-04 w49 Thu** *8-16* Work *17:50-21* Write blog post about using Calendar.md (Calendar.txt)

**2025-12-05 w49 Fri** *8-15:30* Work

**2025-12-06 w49 Sat** *20-22* FGUK FlightNight

**2025-12-07 w49 Sun**

Now lets walk through what each bit means.

**2025-12-04 w49 Thu**

This is the date section telling me the date, week number then the day; I have it is bold so it’s easier to quickly spot when I am looking for.

*8-16*

This is the time of the event. Runs in 24 hour. If it’s part of an hour then it would look something like 16:30.

Work

This is simply the event.

I can then add more events by starting again next to the first event from the time section.

I have only been using it for a day or so now and I’m just starting to get things organised a bit. I feel that there will be another blog post about this in a little while, once I get a little bit more use out of it, but so far it’s working really nicely.

That’s about it for this one, I’ll catch you in the next one. BYEEE!!!
