Title
Angels & Demons by Dan Brown
General Plot and Characters (Contains Spoilers)
The book focuses on an American professor, Robert Langdon, who specialises in art history and conspiracy theories. Upon the murder of a priest scientist working at CERN, Langdon is called in to help, with his expertise in the Illuminati, and the apparent links with the believed long dead group. The late Vetra and his daughter had been working on creating antimatter, which a large canister was stolen and will explode in 24 hours when the battery runs out.
The canister is discovered to have been planted somewhere within the Vatican City, the day of the Papal election. The four Preferiti (the Cardinals who are the favourite candidates for becoming the new Pope), were mysteriously vanished; kidnapped and to be executed, one an hour before the grand finale of the antimatter’s’ explosion at the Vatican City.
Favourite Moments, themes, and characters
One of my favourite moments has got to be when Robert Langdon first travelled to CERN. Flying in the space plane and then racing along Swiss/French roads in a car, was very thrilling to read.
The whole book was absolutely amazing, I would say that everything is my favourite moment is the whole book.
Problems With the Book
I honestly didn’t have any problems with the book, there wasn’t anything I wasn’t really happy with. I have read that there are some scientific inaccuracies with some things in the book, but as someone who isn’t a scientist, I haven’t got a leg to stand on to verify those claims.
Who’s This Book For?
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries, science and the action adventure genre of this book.
Rating out of 5 Stars, and Answer the Question: Would You Read it Again?
I would rate this book 5 stars out of 5. And I would definitely read it again.
