Week of Blogging - A Retrospective

This last week, I have been on holiday (vacation). With 6 people in a car, I was relegated to the far back seat, meaning I could get some much needed relaxing writing time. With that, I decided to write a blog post as day for the whole week, which was a success in my mind.

Let’s take a look at the blosts that I’ve written.

25/7/25 - How I Do Digital Notes - Day 1 and I smash out this post that I’d seen some Fedifriends do (still haven’t got round to reading them yet, sorry :) ). Absolutely loved writing this, talking about my method for keeping notes digitally, I could do so many more blosts about my note taking situation, it’s constantly evolving. Along with my notes, that’s how I write my blosts, most of my notes in my vault are blog posts — most of them finished, some of them not so.

26/7/25 - I Want To Write More - Day 2 and another banger. More of a self reflection post but fun to write nonetheless. After this blost, I had some wonderfully kind words from some of my Fedifriends - basically saying to not compare myself to others, it’ll eat me up. I don’t like to do posts like this, but it seems to be my specialty at the moment.

27/7/25 - Why I Use XOrg Over Wayland - This one caused a little bit of a ruckus, I ended up posting a second time clearing a couple of things up. I enjoyed looking at the reasons why I use XOrg — reminding me of my love for i3 and BSPWM.

28/7/25 - Why I Pixel Art - I loved writing this one, I absolutely love pixel art and making it. This was so much fun to write, I really love looking back at what I enjoy doing and how I can go further in the future.

28/7/25 - Vultures — A Misunderstood Bird - Second blost that day, and an interesting one, and something that I don’t usually do. I was at a bird of prey centre and they made a big deal out of the decline of the vultures and I felt like talking about it.

29/7/25 - Why I Blog - This blost is all about why I write for my blog, and well, to see why I write here (like this blost), definitely give it a read.

30/7/25 - Reading Slump Again - I have long suffered with my reading, it really puts me down sometimes. This blost is about me sitting on one book for ages once again.

31/7/25 - Blost Ideas Are Hard To Come By - Honestly, I was lost for topics to write for this one, decided to talk about how hard it actually is to come up with ideas for posts.

1/8/25 - Week of Blogging - A Retrospective - And that brings us nicely round to this post, the end of the week, and possibly the end of the daily blosts. I will try to keep up my blogging to keep the momentum going, but no promises.

And that’s the week. A week filled with amazing blosts and some not so great ones, but nevertheless, there was a blost a day.
