I Want To Write More

I have a deep feeling to write a lot more. It’s really been playing on my mind. I have always wanted to do writing of some form since I was little, though it was only a few years ago that I started blogging and then a couple of years ago, I started taking my writing seriously - taking part in my first and only NaNoWriMo and then last year, the inaugural WritingMonth.

Blog Writing

My blog has been a source of great pride for me, I love writing something, publishing it and knowing that people are reading and enjoying my writing. However, it’s also one of my biggest sources of anxiety and stress. I am always thinking about what I can write about next and what people think. The biggest stress for me is the length of blog posts.

I often see my Fedifriends and blogs that I read have the little reading time in the frontmatter of their posts which is almost always between 5 and 10 minutes. My posts are normally 1-2 minutes. This stresses me out, as I want to write longer posts but I always struggle to concentrate on writing them for a longer period, I easily get sidetracked.

My longest post was the one I wrote a few days ago, titled What Makes Orbital Happy! which is marked as being 6 minutes, the record for any of my blog posts. The second longest one, short by 1 minute reading time is my blost from yesterday, titled How I Do Digital Notes which I wrote while on a long car journey to our holiday (vacation for my American friends/acquaintances). I really enjoyed writing it, and love that it got to be so long.

Story Writing

I have enjoyed writing stories since I was very little, I used to write little things in Word on my original laptop (running Windows 10) back in the day (which is currently the same laptop that I use as my Arch machine). These were crappy but I enjoyed the process of writing them.

When I did my first (and only) NaNoWriMo, I started a novel called Lunar Voyager - which I was publishing my changes for as I went on my old blog site. I got quite far with that and got very engrossed in it. I then started a mini story series called A Race Against Time which has had 5 episodes with a 6th in the works. This was then my project for WritingMonth last November. I absolutely love the story and I have big dreams for the project. (I still need to move this over to this site, currently it has its own, but it’s and old site that needs updating)

A month or two ago, I started writing a new novel called Project Aurora IV; which I have been writing in private and not sharing any of, in the hopes to one day publish it. I have neglected my writing of this, so I will have to change that and get started on making progress once more.

Conclusion

I’ve written quite a bit recently, with decent gaps between each post, in an attempt to write more, but the biggest thing is coming up with ideas for what to write. This is where you folks come in, if you have easy ideas for blog posts, let me know.
